Grove Real Estate LLC, organized on June 1, 2021, is a diversified private real estate partnership. Our team has decades of experience in acquisitions, property and construction management, and institutional financial management and reporting. The team has worked together for more than 20 years and closed hundreds of transactions valued at more than $1 billion.
Grove Real Estate’s structure combines positive aspects of a smaller, efficient, private fund with the resources of a larger institutional entity. By allowing common ownership of the portfolio and conservative debt levels, Grove manages cash flow, obtains favorable debt terms, and purchases properties more efficiently. Grove’s low leverage, along with decades of experience and modern technology, provides substantial financial and management resources.
Joseph LaBrosse, CPA is the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and founder of Grove Real Estate LLC.
After graduating from the University of Connecticut with a degree in accounting he started his professional career at Arthur Andersen & Co. in the audit and tax departments where he became a Certified Public Account.
After leaving Arthur Andersen in 1988, he joined Grove Investment Group and later became a founding member, shareholder, and Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of numerous Grove companies and joint ventures. This included Grove Property Trust, (AMEX: GVE) a publicly traded Real Estate Investment Trust (REIT) with a portfolio of more than 6,000 apartments and retail properties in Southern New England. In 2000, the apartment portfolio was merged into Equity Residential, a $25 billion S&P 500 company (NYSE: EQR). After, Grove continued to grow a portfolio of real estate properties that included retail, medical offices, industrial buildings, and land with Joseph leading the financial operations.
Throughout his 30-year career, Joseph has been a managing financial partner in more than 500 diversified private real estate partnerships and two public companies. He has closed deals for more than $1 billion of both public and private equity, debt, and derivative transactions. His current real estate portfolio includes partnership interests in self-storage, community retail, mixed-use properties, suburban office, medical office, a large master-planned residential community, and land in southern New England and Charleston SC. In addition to his role as CEO of Grove Real Estate LLC, he is Chief Financial Officer of Carolina Park Development LLC.
Northeast Regional Property Manager
After a successful career in the restaurant industry, Steve joined Grove in 1994. He has been responsible for the leasing, construction, and management of Grove’s commercial portfolio throughout New England. Throughout his 27-year career, Steve helped develop sites in Longmeadow and Edgartown Massachusetts, Simsbury, East Lyme, and Glastonbury Connecticut as well as Bozeman Montana. Steve was instrumental in signing leases throughout the portfolio with the likes of Gap, Athleta, Talbots, Starbucks, Bank of America, and The Black Dog. Working with both local, regional, and national tenants alike to create a diverse mix of tenants throughout the portfolio.
Melissa has been with the team at Grove since 2018. During her 20-year career in Marketing and Development she has worked with small local businesses, private schools, and large national corporations.
